International Women’s Day
Today we recognised International Women’s Day a little earlier as we celebrated at our annual International Women’s Day Breakfast. The morning was dedicated to acknowledging the achievements of girls and women as we unpacked the United Nations Women Australia 2024 theme, ‘Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress.’ Year 12 students Neve L and Emma A, prepared and delivered reflections on the theme and the significance of the day, setting a tone of empowerment and inspiration.
After sharing a delicious breakfast, a highlight of the event was our guest speaker, past pupil Onella Muralidharan (Class of 2016) who shared stories of her time at the College to becoming an Interior Designer, Diversity Advocate, Content Creator and Model. Onella, after overcoming self-doubt in her younger years reminded us to “count yourself in” and to embrace self-belief…”You deserve to be here. You may not always be sure of your decisions but you can be sure of you!”
Closing the morning was a performance by our largest Klbreda Chorale to date with over 50 members singing Katy Perry’s empowering anthem, “Roar”. This song reminds us of the strength and resilience within all of us as we navigate our paths toward positive change.
