Happy 118th Birthday Kilbreda College!
Today marks 118 years since the ever-courageous Brigidine Sisters began educating students at our College. Known then as St Brigid’s Convent School and under the leadership of Mother Margaret Mary Murphy, the first three secondary students began by taking up subjects including etiquette and deportment, Latin, physiology, botany, needlework and painting. While much has changed over these 118 years, what is at the absolute core of our College community remains unchanged. We are eternally grateful for the Brigidine Sisters guidance and hope that they have gifted us. May their example of fidelity and justice continue to inspire us into the future.
Now as we move boldly forward, may we continue to have:
Clear eyes to see your compelling visions…
Steady, firm hands to accomplish our dreams…
Discerning minds to evaluate and choose wisely…
Willing feet to climb higher to maximize our strengths and untold potential.
Bless us with Strength and Kindliness,
and most importantly, commit us to your Service.
In Jesus’ Holy Name we pray.
