Emerging Leaders Immersion Program

We take immense pride in our Learning Leader: Science, Ms. Sarah Chuck, who was selected to participate in the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne Emerging Leaders Immersion Program. This program is specifically designed for young leaders working in Catholic parishes, education, health and social services sectors. As the pilgrims prepare for World Youth Day in Lisbon, they are embarking on a journey filled with exceptional opportunities. During this immersive program, they have already been granted once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, such as celebrating the Eucharist in awe-inspiring places like the Sea of Galilee, with many more extraordinary experiences yet to come. Yesterday, in Rome, Sarah was amongst the 133 leaders who had the privilege of spending precious moments with Pope Francis in a private audience and was incredibly fortunate to be in the front row. This surprise meeting, organised by Archbishop Comensoli, deeply moved Sarah giving her and her fellow pilgrims 40 minutes of time to engage and exchange thoughts with Pope Francis. The group were also incredibly humbled to receive their own Rosary Beads. Pope Francis expressed, “I’m very happy to welcome you here and to see such courageous young people”. Sarah exemplifies that courage and we look forward to accompanying her on this transformative journey. Today, she celebrates mass at St Peter’s Basilica and as she delves deeper into this unique leadership formation experience, we are excited to witness her growth. We eagerly await her return with life-long memories and newfound knowledge that she looks forward to sharing with her colleagues and students.
