Recently we celebrated ‘Design and Technologies Week’. The week began with our ‘Teen Chef’ competition cook-off to see who will be competing in the interschool competition, the first ever! Five teams battled for a final spot in the competition that runs in Term 4 at Killester College. It was a dreary cold afternoon but our kitchen was full of life with teams frying, blending, mixing, baking, caramelising and plating up their main meals and dessert. Following Teen Chef our students had fun creating some cookies that represented what Compassion, our 2022 College theme meant for them. Students busily created wonderful representations and had a lot of fun. In the Textiles space, the ‘Stepping into Style’ activity saw students dyeing socks, with money donated to charity and students ‘walking away’ with novelty socks!
