Creative Arts Superstars!

We congratulate Bo Johnstone (Class of 2021) who has won an award in the Creative Arts Exhibition, held during Catholic Week for her Studio Arts piece, ‘The Internal & External Systems of Humans’. This well-deserved award, which really reflects the theme of her artwork, was the ‘Scienceworks STEM Inspired’ award. Bo will now feature in a book, based on all of the winners.

“No one can judge your interpretation on an event or emotion and that is why art is important to me. It is a safe space; a place where I feel that I can express myself freely.” Bo Johnstone – Class of 2021

Sarah Howard (Class of 2021) should also be commended on her piece, ‘Vibrant Bark’, which also featured in the exhibition.

Another student of Ms Sonya Hood, Year 10 Art student Isobel D, recently took part in the ‘Kingston Art Blitz Competition’ – a competition where a secret theme is revealed and applicants then have 24-hours to create a piece! At the ceremony to celebrate the talents of the participating artists, we were thrilled to learn that Isobel was awarded the ‘Youth Highly Commended (13 to 17)’ award for her piece, ‘Something’s Not Right’. Congratulations to Isobel for the courage to take up this daunting task!
