Announcing the Appointment of Principal Stephanie Smyth

Kilbreda College is proud to announce the appointment of Stephanie Smyth as Principal. A passionate and visionary leader, Stephanie brings a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to the values of Strength and Kindliness, and a strong belief in the transformative power of education.

Stephanie has led the College with strength and care in her role as Acting Principal over the past year. Her appointment follows eight years as Assistant Principal: Wellbeing and Engagement, where she helped shape a whole-school wellbeing strategy, embed positive psychology, and strengthened student leadership and voice. Under her leadership, Kilbreda has continued to grow as a community where every learner is known, seen and valued.

Across her nearly two decades in education, Stephanie has held diverse leadership roles in both Catholic and government settings, including curriculum development, student wellbeing, and strategic planning. She is deeply inspired by the charisms of the Brigidine and Presentation Sisters, and the mission of Kildare Ministries. Stephanie believes education must be both bold and compassionate, equipping students to navigate the world with integrity, courage and hope.

Her leadership at Kilbreda is already making a profound impact through the development of our “Towards 2030” vision, the implementation of Professional Learning Communities, and the co-creation of an inclusive and future-focused school culture.

We are excited for this next chapter under Stephanie’s leadership and look forward to all that lies ahead.

To walk alongside young people as they become who they are called to be is a profound privilege. At Kilbreda, we nurture bold, compassionate women who are ready to shape the world.” Stephanie Smyth
