Year 12
Student Reflection
On Tuesday 3 June the Year 12 cohort had the opportunity to participate in a one-hour session of either Pilates, mediation or self-defence. This was an opportunity for all of the Year 12s to take a break from study, calm their minds and participate in some physical activity.

Pilates offered a calming but also physically engaging session. Through the many positions and movements, we were able to strengthen our balance and coordination all while maintaining a sense of zen. Many students left the Pilates session feeling refreshed, some stating how they felt that they had been able to clear their minds as they became focused on the movements and skills they were executing.
The meditation session allowed students to take a quiet moment to breathe, reset and let go of stress. Guided mindfulness and breathing exercises helped calm the mind and improve focus. Many students left feeling more relaxed and mentally refreshed.
The self-defence session was practical and empowering, teaching students simple techniques to stay safe. The instructor shared useful tips on awareness and confidence in risky situations. Students enjoyed the hands-on experience and left feeling more capable and stronger.
