Wellbeing and Engagement
As we embark on another exciting year, we are delighted with the events and initiatives made to ensure every student feels welcomed, supported, and part of our vibrant community. From interactive orientation activities for Year 7 students with the Big Sister Little Sister program, to our Love Kilbreda Day (Valentine’s Day) and our hugely popular House Swimming Carnival, we’ve been busy creating experiences that foster a sense of belonging for all our students. These events, designed with inclusivity and connection in mind, have not only helped our students settle in but also provided opportunities for them to form meaningful relationships and develop a deeper connection to their peers and school environment.
Valentine’s Day – Love Kilbreda Day
Our Valentine’s Day celebration, “Love Kilbreda Day,” was a resounding success, thanks to the amazing efforts of our student leaders. As students entered the campus, they were warmly welcomed with chocolates, ribbons, and thoughtful messages of care, creating an atmosphere of kindness and community. The enthusiasm and spirit displayed by our student leaders in spreading positivity truly set the tone for the day, reminding everyone of the importance of care, compassion, and connection within our school. It was a heartwarming occasion that highlighted the incredible sense of togetherness and school pride we share.
Permission to Attend Events – PAM
Thank you to parents who acknowledge the work and effort involved in off-campus experiences and give permission for attendance in a timely manner. Meeting deadlines is a crucial skill that will serve your child well both in school and beyond. When it comes to giving permission for events or activities, adhering to deadlines helps ensure that your child has the opportunity to participate fully and benefit from these enriching experiences. It also teaches responsibility, organisation, and respect for others’ time. As students mature and begin to transition into the workplace, the ability to manage deadlines becomes even more important. It is also important to accept the consequence of a missed deadline with respect, responsibility and accountability. Employers value individuals who can meet deadlines consistently, as it reflects reliability, professionalism, and time management skills. Role modelling this and encouraging your child to develop this habit now will set them up for success in both their academic and professional futures.
