Leadership Agency for Teachers Workshops Term 2 and 3
The focus on both pedagogical practices and teacher agency is so important for the growth of teachers at all stages of their career. This year, Kilbreda College is offering an opportunity for teachers wanting to develop their leadership skills to participate in a bespoke ‘Leadership Agency for Teachers’ program. We are very excited to have Aine Maher facilitating the sessions. Aine is a skilled communicator with many years of experience and expertise in learning design, organisational culture and leadership.
The program is tailored to the unique situation of the participants who will unpack and explore the underpinning concepts of teacher leadership. The course will consist of four modules:
- Teacher Leadership,
- Understanding Personal Agency
- Conversations and
- Change.
Four two-hour sessions will take place over the course of Term 2 and 3.

Teachers from St Bede’s College and Kilbreda College participated in their first session on Monday 6 May. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring teacher leader core beliefs and themes, roles for teacher leaders, overarching competencies and areas that we wish to focus, research and implement. The two-hour session was engaging and challenging and we are all keen to return for our next session to delve further into understanding personal agency on 21 May.
