SEGAP Sport

Intermediate Softball and Tennis

The Intermediate Softball and Tennis competition was held on Monday 9 October. OLSH, Killester and SHGC came to our College and the weather was perfect!  In Term 4, we play SEGAP sport at SEGAP schools in a more relaxed round-robin format.

The Tennis teams had four sets of pairs and they all played best of six games. Some of the other schools had very strong A and B pairs. In most cases, we won the C and D pairs but lost overall. The overall winner was Killester College.

The Softball team was undefeated all day. We had many students hit home-runs, which definitely added to the excitement of the day. We played SHGC in the grand final game and we won 16 runs to 4.

This game practice will definitely assist in game preparations for CGSAV next week!

We congratulate the following SEGAP Intermediate and Junior participants:

Other Sport

Sports Aerobics

The Aerobics training will continue until the end of the year. Please let your child know that this will run on Wednesdays in Rooms 55 and 56. They will need to arrive promptly for each practice session, which will either be at lunchtime (Day 3) or the long recess (Day 8). The sessions are for both new students and returning students. After the successful 2023 season where three teams received a medal, we would like to be able to have some teams compete at a higher-level next year.

Kilbreda Run Group

The Kilbreda Running Group started back training this week. This group will meet each Monday until the end of the school year. Students need to meet near the Circuit room at 7.40am (to leave at 7.45am) and we will be back by 8.15am.

If your daughter is interested in joining this group, they will need parent permission via the PAM portal.

Swim Training

Swim training commenced last Friday and is running every Friday morning at Mentone Girls Grammar at 7.00am. Well done to the students who have attended so far. If your daughter would like to attend, please email joanne.wood@kilbreda.vic.edu,au

Please be aware that it is 45 minutes of high intensity swimming, not swimming lessons.

Student Achievements

National U13 Hockey Championships

We congratulate Year 7 students, Neve Hoult and Zara Thompson who were selected to represent Victoria and competed in the National U13 Hockey Championships in Newcastle over the school holidays. The girls played 11 matches in 11 days, managing four wins, two draws and five losses. What an incredible experience for Neve and Zara, well done girls!

We also congratulate Year 8 students, Emily Gamble and Matilda Harrison for their amazing season with the St Bedes/Mentone Tigers AFC. Emily came first and Matilda was equal runner-up in the U14 Girls Division 3 SMJFL Best and Fairest and also nabbed the premiership cup!
