Year 7
It has been a wonderful start to the year and it has been so pleasing to see how our Year 7 students are settling into life at Kilbreda. The girls are building friendships, finding their rhythm with classes and growing in confidence as members of our community. The recent Year 7 Retreat Day was a particular highlight. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to step away from the usual classroom routine, reflect on the theme of belonging and spend time strengthening connections with one another. The day was filled with thoughtful conversations, laughter and shared experiences and it was lovely to see the girls engaging so positively.

As we continue through the term, a couple of gentle reminders about school processes will help everything run smoothly. If a student feels unwell during the school day, she must attend the Health Centre, where our registered school nurse will assess her. If it is necessary for a student to go home, the nurse will contact parents directly. We ask that parents please wait for this call before coming to school to collect their daughter so that staff are aware of student movements and can support them appropriately.
A reminder also that mobile phones must remain locked in lockers from 8.45am until 3.15pm in line with our school policy. Students should not be contacting parents during the school day. If a message needs to be passed on, the school office is always happy to assist.
We also warmly welcome communication with parents and value working closely with you. If you would like to speak with a teacher, we simply ask that meetings are arranged in advance via email or phone, as teachers are often in class throughout the day and unable to accommodate unscheduled visits.
Finally, with Year 7 Camp fast approaching, there is a real buzz building across the year level. Students are starting to talk about the activities, cabins and time away together, and our staff are equally excited. While it is normal for some students to feel a few nerves, camp is such a special experience for building friendships, independence and confidence. We truly appreciate your support in encouraging your daughter to embrace the opportunity.
Thank you for the way you continue to partner with us as we support your daughters in their first year at Kilbreda. We are very much looking forward to the experiences and growth still to come this term.
