Year 11
As the school year draws to a close for our Year 12 students, our Year 11 cohort now steps forward as the emerging leaders of the College. Over recent weeks, we have listened to inspiring speeches, conducted interviews, and cast our votes for the 2026 Student Leadership Team. The depth of talent among our students was clear in their ability to articulate how being actively engaged in the Kilbreda community fosters a sense of accomplishment, purpose and belonging.
Many spoke passionately about sparking a love of learning in others and how true leadership brings people together through a shared vision.
I am often reminded of a favourite poem when reflecting on leadership, and I was struck by how beautifully the students’ words embodied its spirit. I look forward to seeing our new leaders grow throughout their journey and bring their ideas to life in the year ahead.
The art of a true leader
Is the art of the lamplighter.
For true leaders
Have had to light the lamp
Of leadership within.
The true leader
Inspires others to step forward
To light the fire
To fan the ember
Of leadership
That lies within.

Congratulations to our Leaders for 2026.
