Celebrating a Successful Term and Wishing Our Community a Restful Holiday Break

As we come to the end of a long and rewarding term, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the many experiences that have brought our school community together. Over recent weeks, students have embraced a wide range of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. From the outstanding performances in The Addams Family junior production and the enthusiasm shown in lunchtime sporting and recreational activities, to the meaningful celebrations of Refugee Week, students have embraced a diverse range of opportunities this term. These experiences have fostered a strong sense of community, encouraged creativity and collaboration, and enriched students’ learning and understanding of the world around them.

We would like to congratulate all students on their efforts throughout the term. Their dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm have contributed greatly to a successful semester, and it has been a pleasure to witness their growth and achievements across all areas of school life.

Health Centre Reminder

A reminder that if your child becomes unwell during the school day, she should report to the Health Centre, located near Student Reception. Our qualified nurse and first aid staff are available to provide appropriate care and will communicate with families when required.

As part of our duty of care, it is not always appropriate for students, particularly those in Years 7 and 8, to travel home independently after presenting unwell. We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.

Thank You to Our Families

We also extend our sincere thanks to our parents and guardians for your ongoing support, encouragement and partnership. Your involvement plays a vital role in creating a positive and nurturing environment in which our students can thrive.

We thank the many parents and carers who have attended or participated in our Wellbeing Breakfast presentations and events throughout the term. These opportunities allow us to work together in supporting the wellbeing, growth and success of the young people in our care.

As the holiday break begins, we wish all families a safe, restful and enjoyable time. We hope the coming weeks provide an opportunity to relax, recharge and spend quality time with loved ones.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting and successful term ahead.

Child Safe Standards Spotlight – Child Safe Standard 2

As part of our ongoing commitment to child safety, we will continue to highlight the Child Safe Standards throughout the year. This week, our focus is Child Safe Standard 2: Child Safety and Wellbeing is Embedded in Organisational Leadership, Governance and Culture.

This standard recognises that creating a child safe environment is a shared responsibility across the entire school community. It requires child safety and wellbeing to be actively championed, modelled and embedded at every level of the organisation – from leadership and governance teams through to staff, volunteers, contractors, students and families.

To meet this standard, schools are required to:

  • Demonstrate a clear and public commitment to child safety.
  • Foster and promote a strong child safe culture throughout the school.
  • Ensure governance and leadership structures support child safety and wellbeing policies and practices.
  • Develop, implement and uphold a Child Safety Code of Conduct.
  • Implement risk management strategies that prevent, identify and reduce risks to children and young people.
  • Ensure staff, volunteers and contractors understand their responsibilities in keeping children safe, including their obligations regarding information sharing and record keeping.

By embedding child safety into our culture, policies and everyday practices, we work together to create an environment where every student feels safe, respected and supported.
