CGSAV Athletics

75 athletes attended the CGSAV Athletics competition on Thursday 22 May at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. Kilbreda performed very well on the day and showed great team spirit throughout the day. Placings were as follows:

  • Juniors finished 5th
  • Intermediates equal 2nd
  • Seniors finished 2nd
  • Kilbreda came 2nd overall behind Sacred Heart College Geelong!

A highlight was watching five of our six 800m athletes win every race – congratulations Teagan, Matilda, Madeline, Jacinta and Jasmine!

A special congratulations to the seven Year 12 athletes on their final year of representing Kilbreda at Athletics.

Sports Lunch

On Tuesday 27 May in the Meeting Room, a sports lunch was held to celebrate the achievements of students in a range of sports that they have participated in over the semester. These included the CGSAV Triathlon, CGSAV Indoor Cricket, CGSAV Junior Hockey, SEGAP Intermediate Basketball and Senior Basketball. Stephanie Smyth presented the awards along with House Leaders Indi Hanlon, Bridget Koczek, Gabrielle Bienaime, Kate Golby and Maya Johnstone. Students celebrated together with fruit platters and muffins provided by the Canteen staff. This was a great way to recognise and reflect on individual student achievements in sport.

House Fun Run

On Thursday 29 May all students from Years 7 and 8, House Leaders and 21 Years 9 to 12 students participated in the House Fun Run at Karkarook Park. The weather was perfect for our 3km fun run or walk around the lake.
