House Athletics Carnival

Student Reflection

Tullow House – WE DID IT! After 14 years of drought, our teamwork and unstoppable spirit finally came through! We are beyond proud to announce that Tullow has been crowned the 2025 Athletics Carnival Champions!

The day was filled with outstanding performances across the track and field, with Tullow athletes giving it their all in every race, jump and throw. Whether it was the powerful sprints, the thumping discus throws or the speedy relays, we amazingly dominated the scoreboard while keeping our team spirit high.

But what truly set Tullow apart was the unwavering energy and support from every single member of our House. The sea of red in the stands, the endless cheering, and the way we lifted each other up – whether winning or not – proved that Tullow is more than just a House; we are a community that has led itself to victory.

A massive shoutout to our incredible competitors, our cheer squad who never lost their voices (especially Ms Dempster and Ms Moloney), and everyone who stepped up to represent Tullow with pride. To those who ran their first race, gave their all in an event outside their comfort zone, or cheered until their voices cracked – YOU are the reason we won!

This victory isn’t just about a trophy; it’s about the legacy of strength, resilience, and house spirit that we continue to build. And while today, we celebrate our success, we know that this is just the beginning of even greater things to come for Tullow House.

Congratulations, Team TULLOW! Enjoy this moment – we are the champions!

Kate performed exceptionally well at theCatholic Girls Sports Association of Victoria (CGSAV) swim meet last month and has been formally invited to be a part of the Representative Swimming Squad for 2025.

This is a fantastic event and an opportunity to swim with other students from various member colleges from the CGSAV. The feedback from participants over previous years was that it was a really positive experience and that they enjoyed the opportunity to compete against some of the best school-aged swimmers from all around Victoria.

Kate has been an integral part of the CGSAV swimming squads throughout her six years at Kilbreda. We wish Kate all the best for the VSAC Swimming event.

Student Reflection

We were lucky to be able to represent the school in Indoor Cricket in the Intermediate division. It was such a great experience! Our team had six games to look forward to and had no idea how the competition was going to be. We competed against Santa Maria, Avila and OLSH. We were up against Santa Maria first and we were looking forward to the game ahead. After playing our first few games, we started to get better at working together and figuring out some tactics to help us win. After our last game against OLSH, we were so excited to be in the Grand Final, but we were also so nervous. We had won four games and lost two, but that didn’t stop us from trying our best in the Grand Final.

In the grand final we played against OLSH. Previously we had lost to them, so we knew that it was going to be a tough game. After both teams had batted and bowled, we ended in a tie and needed to pick our best two batters to finish off the game for us. OLSH batted first and we got them to eight runs giving us a score to beat. Our two batters did an amazing job and got us to nine runs, which won us the Grand Final! Overall, it was an amazing day and we had so much fun creating so many new friendships and memories!

Basketball 3 x 3 Cup

On 5 and 11 March and 1 April, seven teams from Kilbreda competed in the 3×3 Cup basketball tournament. It was a strong competition across all three age groups and all of our Kilbreda teams did exceptionally well! Our Under 20, Under 17 and both Under 15 teams progressed to the state finals, where they competed against the top twelve 3 x 3 teams in Victoria. These were played on Monday 28 April. Well done to all of our competitors and congratulations to our Senior Team (Division 1) being named as the Senior Champions! This amazing group has dominated the competition each year. Also well done to Jasmine Perry who was selected as the Best on Court Player in the Grand Final. We wish these players the best of luck and give a big congratulations to all students who have represented Kilbreda in these teams!
