CGSAV Swimming and Diving Competition
Student Reflection

On 27 February, students from Years 7 to 12 travelled to Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) for the CGSAV Swimming and Diving Competition. Getting the day off to a very positive start, 11 competitors represented Kilbreda in the Diving event and placed third overall with 17 points. In each Diving section the Juniors finished in fourth place, Intermediates in fourth place and Seniors in fifth place. OLSH and Mater Christi finished equal first as champions for the event. Some highlights of the swimming were seeing everyone drawing the “K fish” on their arms before swimming and our Year 12 Freestyle Relay team winning our last event together.
Congratulations to everyone who participated on the day and who trialled for the team. It was great to see so many amazing swims and commitment from everyone who came to training throughout the term. In the Swimming section our Juniors came fifth, Intermediates came second and Seniors in third place. Overall, Kilbreda came in second place!
A big thank you to all the teachers who have come and helped coach at our morning swimming sessions and who organised everything on the day as well as the Canteen staff for supplying breakfast on Friday mornings. Congratulations to the 2025 CGSAV Swimming and Diving Squad for their incredible efforts! There were some great individual results and some amazing relays. Students showed great determination, enthusiasm and teamwork.

The Senior team put in a strong performance, finishing in fifth place overall. Their efforts were commendable, demonstrating great teamwork and resilience despite the tough competition. The Intermediate team had an impressive run, finishing third and coming heartbreakingly close to reaching the final. After a fiercely contested semi-final, they were narrowly defeated, but their perseverance was truly inspiring. 3×3 Cup Basketball

The Under 17 3×3 Cup Basketball Competition was held at the Nunawading Basketball Centre on Wednesday 5 March.
The following students represented Kilbreda:

The team played five games in total across the day, coming up against very strong competition. The team made it into the quarter final against Edinburgh College, which was a very tough but competitive game.
Edinburgh College were the overall champions for the event. Congratulations to all students involved in the competition for 2025.

Under 20
The Under 20 3×3 teams competed in the opening round at Nunawading on Tuesday 11 March.
The Division 1 team of Ella, Jas, Bianca and Lucy won through to the grand final after only dropping one of their round games. They reversed the result in the grand final with a very tough one point win over Box Hill Senior Secondary School. The team has now progressed to the state finals to be held next term.
The Division 2 team of Sophie, Liv and Liv played some great basketball winning three of their six games with their losses being by only a couple of points.
A fantastic effort by both teams!
