Student Reflection

On Tuesday 6 October, Kilbreda’s Table Tennis team had the opportunity to compete in the Division 2 CGSAV Table Tennis competition at MSAC against Ave Maria, CLC, Mercy and Santa Maria. Throughout the day, all students who participated displayed a strong sense of teamwork and determination, building their table tennis skills and tactics. The Senior team went undefeated, winning with a score of 203-125 against Ave Maria. The Intermediates played an incredibly close game, just falling short and placing second by four points, while the Juniors won 160-128 against Santa Maria. It was amazing to see the sportsmanship and friendly remarks between schools throughout the event!

Congratulations to our MVPs in the Grand Final, Amira and Lena, along with everyone who competed on the day. Thank you to all the teachers who came to help coach and motivate us, as well as for all the training sessions that were run.

CGSAV Softball

Congratulations to our Softball players for their efforts on Tuesday 13 October in the CGSAV Softball tournament played at Jells Park in Wheelers Hill. The Junior and Intermediate teams made their grand final games but lost to Sacred Heart and Avila College. In both cases our teams came up against extremely skilled girls who could pitch fast!

VSAC Athletics

Congratulations to the following students who were selected to represent CGSAV Athletics in the inter Association Athletics meet: Sienna M, Indiana N and Chelsea W.

Good luck to these athletes for Thursday’s competition at Lakeside Stadium.

House Leaders 2026

It seems so strange that we are in October and we will be farewelling our 2026 House Leaders this week. It seems like yesterday that we went to the School House Leaders Breakfast at Santa Maria in February and listened to Annabelle Smith, an Olympic Diver for Australia, talk to the girls about sport, leadership and role models. 

We want to acknowledge the House Leaders that we have worked with throughout the year. They too have been wonderful role models for both their peers and their Houses. They demonstrated leadership skills at our House events throughout the year and were great at encouraging active participation. They ran some great lunchtime activities on Day 9 that encouraged participation in fun games across multiple year levels. The House Leaders could be relied on to run assemblies and promote House spirit. 

We also enjoyed some great Staff vs Year 12 House Leaders sports days. The staff won the volleyball but unfortunately lost both the dodge ball and netball. It is always a highlight to play against the students and see the fellow school community get behind the games and cheer on all competitors.
