Individual Student Achievements

In January, Jordan A (Year 8) proudly captained the Victorian Under 14 Girls team at the National Softball Championships held in Melbourne.

After being selected for the state team in July 2025, Jordan and her teammates committed to an intensive training schedule, training three times a week in preparation for the tournament. Competing in extremely hot conditions – and representing one of Victoria’s strongest Under 14 sides in recent years – the team demonstrated outstanding resilience and determination, playing 12 games across six demanding days of competition.

Although Team Victoria narrowly missed progressing to the grand final following the preliminary rounds, they finished the championship on a high note with an impressive victory over New South Wales, who went on to become the eventual National Champions. Jordan’s leadership and the team’s perseverance were exceptional throughout the tournament.

During the championship, Jordan also had the valuable opportunity to learn from some of Australia’s leading softball and baseball athletes. She spent time with former Australian Captain and triple Olympic medallist Peta Edebone, as well as current Australian Captain Tamieka Whitefield – experiences that will no doubt inspire her continued development in the sport. Well done Jordan!

On Saturday 14 February, Vida Y (Year 11) participated in the Athletics Victoria State Championships at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. Vida placed 6th in the state achieving a National qualifying time of 10m 37s in the 3000m event. Vida also placed 7th in the state for the 1500m event. Congratulations to Vida for achieving these incredible results.
