Year 7 to 9 Meet and Greet
On Wednesday 5 March, the College participated in an inaugural ‘Meet and Greet’ where students and their parents and carers were given the opportunity to meet and greet their child’s subject teachers in Years 7 to 9. The community spirit and genuine enjoyment and ‘buzz’ of the meeting was clear for all to see. Many parents commented on how much they appreciated the opportunity to meet and greet the teachers of their child and place a name to a face. The large numbers that attended the evening was a testament to the value parents and carers placed on meeting the teachers in this informal way.
Professional Learning Communities
Every Wednesday during the Day 8 cycle, Teaching and Learning Diversity staff will participate in the Professional Learning Communities with the continued focus to enhance student learning and outcomes. Each Domain will focus on an area of need identified through summative or perception data. Natalie Burke, Melanie Marsh and Sarah Chuck, as part of the Data Analysis Team, will participate in the Professional Learning Communities as data coaches to assist staff to read and analyse the data. Each domain will complete an action research cycle – identify a need in data, research best practice, establish a goal, plan for improvement, embed improvements and evaluate impact. Staff will present their findings during the Professional Learning Communities in June.

I am looking forward to discussing with each of their Domains how they will refine their focus and enhance their strategies to continue to improve the student learning and outcomes in their Domain area.
Learning Progress Meetings
Learning Progress Meetings will take place on:
Wednesday 2 April | 2.30pm – 8.00pm | Years 10 to 12 |
Friday 4 April | 9.00pm – 3.30pm | Years 7 to 12 |
The nature of these meetings is to discuss how students are progressing in the different subject areas. It is important that student learning is at the centre of these meetings, therefore students are required to be in attendance. The Learning Progress Meetings will be held online, and letters will be emailed to families next week with instructions on how to make a booking via PAM.
Asynchronous Learning Day for Students – Friday 4 April
An Asynchronous Learning Day will take place on Friday 4 April. Teaching staff will set tasks, activities and/or reading for students to complete at home. The use of google classroom and SIMON will assist with setting and clarifying aspects of the set tasks.
Please note that on this day teaching staff will be involved with the Learning Progress Meetings and there will be no face-to-face classes taking place at the College.
