John is a dedicated Catholic educator and former youth worker with a passion for the holistic and spiritual development of young people.

John commenced his career in social work and youth work for community organisations and local Catholic Parishes. This frontline experience of working with young people in crisis (substance abuse issues, homelessness, education, criminal justice and family violence) gave John a passion for working for the rights and health of young people in his care.
With over two decades of experience in Catholic secondary education, John has held senior leadership positions in Catholic Mission, wellbeing and counselling, including implementation of innovative Religious Education curriculum and teaching practices.
John’s passion is in the holistic development of each young person in the community, acknowledging all aspects of their person, that they may grow and develop to be the unique person they are, contributing to the world as only they can. Often our world neglects the spiritual dimension of the human person and its importance to our overall health, wellbeing and successful life outcomes. John has a unique approach to developing this dimension in young people. He draws on the rich tradition of the Catholic faith through recontextualisation, ensuring inclusive practices and activities are aimed at engaging young people, wherever they are on their spiritual journey.
John is truly grateful for this opportunity to serve the Kilbreda College community and is inspired by the life and legacy of Saint Brigid and the example of the Brigidine Sisters upon whose foundation we proudly stand today.
