Central Australia Trip 2026
Forty Year 11 students and five staff embarked on the incredible nine-day 2026 Central Australia trip, travelling from Uluru to Alice Springs.
Along the way, they experienced breathtaking sunsets over Uluru, explored Kings Canyon’s Garden of Eden, swam in the refreshing waters of Ormiston Gorge and Ellery Creek Big Hole, and visited remarkable sites including Simpsons Gap and the Ochre Pits in the West MacDonnell Ranges.
Students also deepened their understanding of First Nations culture, connecting with the Aranda people at Kings Canyon and the Arrernte people at Standley Chasm. They gained insight into traditional customs, bush medicine and bush tucker – with witchetty grubs and kangaroo tails proving memorable highlights!
With warm days and cool nights, conditions were ideal for camping. Students returned home with lasting memories, stronger friendships and a greater appreciation for the Northern Territory.
A big thank you to the dedicated staff who made the experience possible.
