Year 11
Leadership Journey Begins
Last Tuesday marked the launch of the 2027 Student Leadership process, as our Year 11 students gathered to begin considering the opportunity to lead the College community in their final year.
Students heard from our Principal and current Co-Captains, who shared insights into the qualities and experiences that shape effective leadership at Kilbreda. Ms Smyth reflected on the strengths and characteristics demonstrated by past College Captains, while our current Co-Captains spoke openly about their own leadership journeys and the opportunities and growth that have come with their roles.
A highlight of the session was a student panel featuring representatives from Years 7-10, who shared their perspectives on what makes a strong and inspiring school leader. Their reflections offered valuable insight and reminded students that leadership is grounded in connection, service and positive influence.
Year 11 students interested in leadership were also provided with information about the application process and timeline for School Captain and other leadership positions.
We look forward to our next gathering, where aspiring leaders will take the next step in the process by presenting their speeches.
