Celebrating Excellence and Artistry at Kilbreda

It has been a vibrant and bustling few weeks at the College! From the rigors of academic competition to the dazzling lights of the stage, our students continue to impress us with their dedication, creativity and spirit.

A Meeting of the Minds: Da Vinci Decathlon Success

Our students recently put their problem-solving skills and academic prowess to the test at the Da Vinci Decathlon. This prestigious competition challenges students across ten disciplines, including engineering, code-breaking and creative producers.

We are incredibly proud of our teams for their stellar performance and collaborative spirit. Their success is a testament to the critical thinking and teamwork we value so highly here at Kilbreda. Watching them navigate complex challenges with such poise was truly inspiring!

Exploring the World: Languages Week

Communication is at the heart of everything we do and, this week, Languages Week provided a fantastic opportunity to celebrate global cultures. Students were treated to a variety of immersive options throughout the week, including:

  • Cultural Workshops: Getting hands-on with traditional crafts and customs.
  • Culinary Delights: Exploring the world through taste during lunchtime festivities.
  • Interactive Games: Testing their linguistic skills in a fun, relaxed environment.

It was wonderful to see so many students stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing the beauty of different languages and traditions.

The Magic of the Kilbreda Festival

The energy on campus reached a fever pitch during the Kilbreda Festival, our annual showcase of performing arts talent. The joy was palpable as students from across all year levels took to the stage to share their gifts in music, dance and drama.

Whether it was a soaring vocal solo or a high-energy group performance, the talent on display reminded us of the vital role the arts play in our school’s identity. A huge thank you to the staff and students who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this celebration of creativity such a resounding success.

Looking Ahead: Year 9 – 11 Examinations

As we approach the final stretch of the term, we wish to provide a gentle reminder that examinations for Year 9, 10 and 11 students will commence in Week 8.

We encourage students to use the coming days to organise their revision notes and reach out to their teachers with any final questions. We understand that exam periods can be a time of nerves, but we have every confidence that our students are well-prepared to show what they have learned.
