Term 1 Assembly
At our Term 1 Assembly, we officially welcomed our Year 7 students into the Kilbreda community. We also celebrated the outstanding achievements of our 2025 Scholars of Distinction and commissioned our 2026 Student Leaders.
In her address, Principal Stephanie Smyth reflected on our 2026 College theme, ‘Justice – Making the Needs of the Vulnerable Paramount’:
“Justice is lived when we choose not to walk past one another, when we adjust our pace, and when we use our strength – not to stand above others, but to stand beside them. This is how the flame is carried. Not by a few, but by all of us… May we be brave enough to let our light shine and generous enough to protect the light we see in others.”
Following the announcement of our Scholars of Distinction, 2025 College Dux Sarah shared a message with warmth, humour and honesty that resonated with students across every year level:
“Feeling lost, confused or overwhelmed at the start doesn’t mean you’re incapable – it just means you’re learning.”
Thank you to Sarah and Ms Smyth for their inspiring words, and congratulations to all students recognised today. We can’t wait to see what lies ahead for each of you.
