CGSAV Hockey

Congratulations to the following students who represented Kilbreda at the CGSAV Hockey tournament at the State Hockey Centre last week:

Student Reflection

On Tuesday 5 May, Kilbreda’s Hockey teams had the privilege of competing in the CGSAV Division 1 Hockey Competition at the State Hockey and Netball Centre against Sacred Heart, Mount St Joseph and Santa Maria. The day contained a strong sense of teamwork and determination displayed by the 28 students that participated in the event. Our Junior team starting well with two close wins of 1-0 and 1-0, securing their place in the grand finals and coming 2nd overall.

Our Senior team was undefeated, winning each match with scores of 3-1, 8-0 and 10-0 with close grand final to come out as champions of the day. Lulu from the Junior team and Lexi from the Seniors managed to be the overall MVPs from the grand finals, demonstrating their skills and dedication on the pitch.

SEGAP Sport

On Friday 1 May, approximately 45 students represented Kilbreda with great enthusiasm and determination at the SEGAP Junior Badminton, Futsal and Basketball Competition. Students played against Killester, OLSH and Sacred Heart Oakleigh. Across all sports, students displayed outstanding teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the day.

A special congratulations to our Basketball teams, with both the A and B teams winning their Grand Finals in remarkable fashion.

In Futsal, the B team were crowned grand final champions after a fantastic tournament, while the A team fought hard to reach the grand final and narrowly went down in a thrilling overtime contest.

Our Badminton teams demonstrated impressive rallies and a high level of skill throughout the competition, finishing an outstanding 3rd overall.

The SEGAP Competition also acknowledges individual achievements of students and the MVPs for each sport are below.

School Sport Victoria (SSV) Touch Football Trials

Registrations are now open for the upcoming School Sport Victoria Touch Football Trials.

These trials are an excellent opportunity for students looking to:

  • represent Victoria
  • develop their touch football skills
  • and experience higher-level coaching and competition.

Trial Divisions

  • 12 Years and Under Girls
  • 15 Years and Under Girls

Synergise Elite Pathways Touch Academy

The program is designed for students aged 12 – 16 years looking to:

  • improve advanced touch football skills
  • prepare for SSV or representative trials
  • increase confidence and game understanding
  • learn from experienced representative coaches.

When: Friday Nights (Starting 15 May)
Where: Moorabbin Rugby Club

This program has been designed to help Victorian players continue developing outside school sport and give students more opportunities to progress within touch football.
