Year 10

As the term progresses, I would like to reiterate the importance of consistent attendance. Regular attendance is essential in ensuring students remain engaged with both their academic learning and their peers, which is critical to their overall development. Attendance rates falling below 80% may indicate that a student is not adequately prepared for the demands of the VCE. Accordingly, it is imperative that strong attendance habits are established during Year 10.

A key focus for this term is the preparation for the forthcoming Year 10 examinations. To support this, students are encouraged to dedicate between two and three hours each afternoon to home study. This study time should incorporate a balanced approach, including both the completion of assigned homework and purposeful revision.

Effective revision strategies may include:

  • Dividing study time into structured 30-minute intervals
  • Developing concise summaries or flashcards to consolidate key concepts
  • Reviewing previous feedback to identify areas requiring further improvement

Please reach out to your student’s Homeroom teacher should you have any attendance or academic concerns.
