Top Arts Exhibition
The Top Arts Exhibition was an incredibly valuable and engaging experience for our VCE Art Creative Practice students. It provided a unique opportunity to view high-quality artworks and exemplary folios, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of the creative and design processes behind successful final pieces. Through learning directly from NGV educators, students were able to strengthen their analytical and interpretive skills while gaining insight into the expectations of high-level folio work.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition, expressing enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored the diverse range of ideas, materials and approaches on display. The opportunity to closely study folios was particularly beneficial, as it offered inspiration and practical strategies they can apply to their own work. In addition, engaging with artworks from the NGV Australia collection helped students to contextualise their learning within Australian art history, deepening their appreciation and understanding of artistic practices and perspectives.
A special thank you to Sonya Hood for assisting on the day and guiding students through the art analysis session, supporting them to engage more deeply with the works on display. Overall, the excursion was both inspiring and educational, motivating students to refine their own art-making and folio development as they continue their studies.
