Welcome from the Design and Technologies Team

A warm welcome to the Kilbreda community from the Design and Technologies team.

My name is Matthew Wardell and I am the new Learning Leader for this esteemed area. As a new staff member, I have been made to feel very welcome by staff and students and I’m very excited for the year ahead.

I am approaching almost thirty years in teaching, have taught in the Creative Arts area, though I have also freelanced in Physical Education and dabbled in Outdoor Education, too. I come to Kilbreda with a background of working with VCAA as an auditor, examination assessor and Top Design panellist and presenter. My experience also ventures to instructional coaching within the classroom and sports coaching. This year my learning areas are Visual Communication Design, teaching Years 9 -12 and Digital Technologies.

Leading Design and Technologies this year as student representatives will be Grace F and Eliza S (Year 12) who both showcase a wealth of experience and passion for the area. All staff wish them well for the year and look forward to hearing from them in future newsletters and student communications.
