English
One of the blessings of life as an English teacher is getting to read the writing of the young people in our care. The students at Kilbreda care deeply about the world around them and they reflect with compassion on the plight of others. Some of the girls love creative writing, while others prefer formal writing of articles and opinion pieces. Last term saw the Year 12 English classes tackling protest and crafting responses of their own to injustice in their lives. The Year 7 classes have recently embarked on a journey of writing, exploring poetry and short stories, in order to create their own.
The images below show some examples of “black-out poetry” created by our Year 7s.
