VISION AND VALUES
Kilbreda College Vision Statement
We at Kilbreda endeavour to interpret and continue the spirit of Brigid and the Brigidine sisters in our time and place.
Brigid sat among her people and handcrafted them a cross from the reeds nearby.
This inspires us to:
- Have faith in and be true to the message of Jesus Christ
- Form Church , that is the People of God
- Bind together to weave a strong community
- Develop our gifts and use resources creatively and lovingly
Brigid is remembered for the lamp she carried among people, especially women.
We are encouraged to:
- Dare to dream that there may be light
- Walk in the tradition of Brigid and the many generations who have since held the lamp, especially in Australia
- Offer enlightenment, support, security and healing
The first Brigidine sisters, led by Daniel Delany, followed their convictions and defied convention to teach young people.
We are challenged to:
- Value and promote learning and teaching
- Celebrate individual self-worth and achievement
- Stand and work for justice
- Have a special empathy with the marginalised in our community and in society
- Create a spirit of hope
