KILBREDA 25 YEAR REUNION
The Class of 84 recently held their 25 year school reunion. After many months of organising and with most girls not having seen each other since the 10 year reunion, there was definitely plenty to catch up on. The school provided a fantastic venue and certainly made us feel welcome with memorabilia from our school days displayed. Mary Stack even conducted a school tour, with her current office our old Year 10 classroom, where we used to climb out the windows.
The night began with around 50 girls attending (approximately half of the year level), with some others unable to attend and passing on their best wishes. Photos were flowing around the room and many stories told, both old and new. With the night drawing to a close and many girls still to catch up on news, the party continued on to the Mentone Hub where many were staying who had travelled down from Interstate.
The girls are now ready to continue the reunions and look forward to 30 years (maybe in conjunction with St Bedes).

REUNION MATRICULATION CLASS 1962 - JUNE 2007
MAURI HAMILTON (MAURICETTE DUFFY)
For the last four years, since the Centenary, our class has met for lunch and a bit of a chat! Some of the group began at Kilbreda in 1950 and continued till 1962. Others were only there for part of their schooling, one for only one year. The sense of connectedness is very evident in the group as everyone communicates over a wide range of issues and as though they last communicated yesterday.

I have worked continuously in education: primary, secondary and tertiary institutions and am currently working from my own consultancy. I married Ray Hamilton in 1973 and have three children, Chris, Michelle and Stephen all of whom are familiar with many Kilbreda stories. I have been fortunate to be able to continue my love of dance by teaching dance as a subject in secondary school – something I would never have thought possible when at school. Times have changed and my ability to embrace change is due to the supportive learning community of family and school I experienced in my youth.

Helping Poverty
Wes Hosking, 25 Jun 07
TWO former Kilbreda College students will help fight poverty next week.
Caitlin Wood and Bridget O'Brien , both 18, have been selected as ambassadors for the Make Poverty History ZeroSeven Road Trip, which begins on July 1.
The pair will travel by bus from Melbourne to Sydney, visiting towns such as Bendigo and Albury to raise awareness about global poverty. The movement wants the Federal Government to commit 0.7 per cent of Australia's gross national income to foreign aid by 2015.
Ms Wood said she was inspired to tackle poverty after visiting East Timor in 2004.
``Ever since then it's opened my eyes to everything,'' she said. As part of the application process Ms Wood and Ms O'Brien submitted a video to a selection panel that choose 150 Victorian ambassadors from a pool of about 700.
They also strung a banner along a bridge on Nepean Hwy asking motorists to beep if they wanted to make poverty history.
"We live in a world where a child in poverty dies every three seconds due to preventable causes,'' Ms O'Brien said.
"I am honoured to be taking an active part in putting an end to this.''.
Organisers said the road trip would be Australia's biggest youth event. It will culminate in Sydney on July 7 when hundreds of ambassadors will meet.

KILBREDA PAST PUPILS TWILIGHT REUNION
On Friday evening 4 May approximately 56 past pupils covering 50 years of education at Kilbreda gathered at the 2007 Reunion, a Twilight Cocktail Party. We enjoyed the company, stories of school experiences, catching up with people’s life journeys, browsing through photos and memorabilia and news of Kilbreda today.
Ms Mary Stack, the newly appointed Principal and first non Brigidine Principal of Kilbreda welcomed all to Kilbreda.
