YEARS 9 AND 10 CURRICULUM

Developing Pathways

Year 9 Mentors

"Years 9 & 10 constitute a bridge to the post-compulsory years where students begin to focus more clearly on areas of particular interest related to both their future schooling and intended pathways beyond school while developing their understanding of, and connection to, the community in which they live".

(Overview to Victorian Essential Learning Standards, p3 http://vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au )

Year 9 Bridges

The Bridges program is designed to link students into the wider community. Working in groups supported by adult mentors, students are given opportunities to work cooperatively in small groups, exercise leadership and undertake community service in order to develop resilience and challenge the stereotypes of gender and image besetting young people.
